MVAOCOU appoints Makenzie Smith as new volleyball coach

On Monday, MVAO Community School announced that Makenzie Smith is set to take over as the new varsity volleyball coach. Coach Smith is a 2020 graduate of MVAOCOU High School and she currently teaches kindergarten at Mapleton Elementary. Makenzie graduated from Iowa State and she served as the varsity volleyball assistant coach last fall.

Coach Smith shared, “I am excited to return to coaching volleyball this coming year and I look forward to working with our volleyball team to better each of our players’ team and individual goals.”

Smith will take over a Rams team that finished 23-13 last season.
