Monarchs boys soccer team look for momentum wins to close out week

The Denison-Schleswig Monarchs are early into their soccer season, but they will be battle-tested as we close out the week.

The Monarchs sit at 1-1-1 on the season with a mixed bag of results. In the season opener, the Monarchs jumped all over Red Oak for an 11-0 win, followed up by a slim 1-0 loss to St. Albert.

The Monarchs started the week on Tuesday with a 0-0 draw vs Perry, a game in which the Monarchs had 11 shots on goal.

Led by their stellar defense and stout goalkeeping play from senior Sebastian Contreras, the Monarchs look to get the goal production back up after being shut out for two straight games.

Noah Caruso caught up with Monarchs coach Nate Desy as well as Sebastian Contreras & Carlos Zamago as they enter tonight's contest on the road against HX foe Creston. They will close out the week with a road contest on Friday vs Norwalk and a Saturday clash with reigning 2A champions Dallas Center-Grimes.
