Fran McCaffery introduced as the new coach at Penn

An emotional Fran McCaffery was introduced as the new head coach at Penn this morning. McCaffery was fired after 15 years at Iowa. He is a native of Philadelphia and played for the Quakers. McCaffery led the Ivy League in steals and assists as a senior in 1982 and says he contacted people connected to the program to let them know he was interested. McCaffery was joined at the announcement by his former coach at Penn and a number of his former teammates. McCaffery's teams are known for an up tempo, high scoring style of play, and that won't change in the Ivy League. He takes over a Quaker program that struggled to an 8-19 record this past season.
