Coaches Comments from Chris Eller:
“It was a great opening night win for the Lady Monarchs. We played very well in all phases of the game. Offensively, we moved the ball very well, moved well without the ball, had great spacing, used the whole field and created shots for each other. Defensively, we stayed marked up very tightly on their leading returning scorer, communicated very well, got back well on their counters and didn’t allow them any really good looks at a close shot. We also got a lot of girls into the game, which was very nice with a very tough St. Albert team on the schedule tomorrow. I didn’t want to have anybody with tired legs against St. Albert. We got all of our girls plenty of rest tonight, while getting a lot of younger girls valuable experience for their first ever varsity action. We had some very good individual accomplishments as the result of great teamwork. The girls have worked really hard and I’m glad to see their hard work pay off with a nice win. Historically, this is the first time Denison has beaten LeMars in girls soccer as they won the 1st 2 matches. Congratulations to the Lady Monarchs for that accomplishment”.
The Monarchs (1-0) are in action on April 2nd agaisnt conference foer St. Albert in Council Bluffs.
