An Apartment Building In Davenport Partially Collapsed

Part of a six-story apartment building located at 324 Main St. in Davenport collapsed on Sunday evening. A rescue operation was underway, and preparations to demolish the building on Tuesday were in full swing. That was until the discovery and rescue of a resident on Monday afternoon. Now, Davenport leaders believe as many as five people may still be missing, and that two of them could be in the rubble. At least nine people have been rescued so far. Protestors arrived outside of the building on Monday to demand authorities continue to search and rescue those who are missing and may be in the rubble. Authorities are now deliberating whether continued search and rescue efforts will be feasible with the building becoming increasingly unstable. This is a developing story, stay tuned to KDSN for more updates.
