Denison City Council to Hold Second Regular April Meeting Tuesday
DENISON, Iowa (April 14, 2025) — The Denison City Council will convene for its second regularly scheduled meeting of the month on Tuesday, April 15 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at Denison City Hall and is open to the public both in person and virtually via Zoom.
Council members Curnyn, Granzen, Logan, Miller, and Zupp-Smith are expected to attend. Following the Pledge of Allegiance and approval of the agenda and consent items, the council will hear from citizens during a public input period limited to five minutes per speaker.
Items on the agenda include discussions and possible action on several key topics, such as:

Approval of a Special Event Permit and fee waiver for St. Rose Family Night

Planning for the upcoming National Night Out event

A Request for Proposal for a 4x4 Tanker Fire Apparatus

Consideration of a mural proposal by the Uptown Improvement Committee

Approval of agreements involving the Senior Center and the YMCA

Naming rights for city property with Monogram Quality Foods
The council will also address financial reports related to FAA-funded airport projects, an amendment for income verification services with the Region XII Council of Governments, and a new software agreement with Tyler Technologies.
Updates will be provided on a potential development agreement with the Donna Reed Foundation and the Crawford County Wellness Center project. The council will vote on payment and change requests associated with the Wellness Center’s construction.
Other items include setting a public hearing for the city's second budget amendment for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 and preliminary discussions on ordinance updates concerning handicapped parking, fireworks, habitual violators, and backyard chickens.
Mayor and City Manager reports will follow before the meeting adjourns.
