Firefighters Battle Blaze at Frazier Building and Supply in Denison

DENISON, Iowa (April 24, 2025) — Multiple area fire departments responded to a structure fire at Frazier Building and Supply on 7th Street in Denison on Thursday afternoon.
The initial call came in just before 3 p.m., prompting a response from fire crews in Denison, Dow City, Manilla, and Vail. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and visible flames coming from the northwest corner of the building.
A second alarm was soon issued to request additional assistance from the Schleswig and Charter Oak departments. Denison’s Engine 1 connected to a nearby hydrant and deployed a large-diameter hose to knock down the bulk of the fire. Meanwhile, firefighters from Manilla worked to ventilate the structure by opening sections of the roof.
As of Thursday evening, crews had transitioned into the overhaul phase, systematically checking the building for any remaining hot spots. Authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
