U.S. 30 bridge over the Boyer River near Dow City to close on March 31

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – March 18, 2025 – If you drive on U.S. 30 in near Dow City in Crawford County you need to be aware of an upcoming bridge deck replacement project that may slow down your trip.
Beginning on Monday, March 31, until late September, weather permitting, crews will be working on replacing the bridge deck on the U.S. 30 bridge over the Boyer River, .8 miles east of Crawford County Road M-14 near Dow City.
While the bridge is closed you will follow a marked detour route using U.S. 59 and Crawford County Road E-59 (see map).
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
