Perry Man Faces Murder Charge After Admitting to Killing at Home

PERRY, Iowa — A 75-year-old man from Perry has been charged with first-degree murder after he reportedly confessed to killing another individual living with him.
The Perry Police Department responded to a call at approximately 8:42 p.m. on Sunday from Richard James Hoesing, who resides on Lucinda Street. Hoesing, who made the call himself, admitted to having killed someone at the residence.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the body of the victim inside the home.
Hoesing was immediately detained and charged with first-degree murder. Authorities believe the incident to be isolated, and the investigation is ongoing.
