Odebolt Residents Along With Story City Man Facing Federal Charges For Intent To Deliver Substances Traced With Fentanyl

Three individuals are facing federal drug charges after allegedly planning to distribute large quantities of methamphetamine, laced with fentanyl, throughout Sac County between January and April 2024. Ryan Edward Miller and Danielle Cherice Morris, both from Odebolt, Iowa, and William Ross Clark Jr. of Story City, are charged with conspiracy to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance, and 400 grams of a substance containing a detectable amount of fentanyl.

According to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, Miller and Morris are also facing additional charges related to possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Miller has a prior conviction for felony drug offenses from 2017 in Boone County.

Miller and Clark have pleaded not guilty to the charges and are scheduled to appear before a grand jury on May 12. Morris, however, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison. If convicted, Clark and Morris could both face lengthy prison terms, while Miller faces a minimum of 20 years and potentially up to 30 years in prison, along with hefty fines.
