The Can Crew Opens New Can Redemption Center in Denison On Monday
Denison residents now have a new option for recycling their beverage containers, as The Can Crew has officially opened its redemption center at 105 S 7th Street. Following a successful surprise soft opening on Friday, the center is ready to serve the community with structured open hours beginning Monday, February 24, 2025.
Open Hours:
-
Monday: 8 AM - 5 PM
-
Wednesday: 8 AM - 5 PM
-
Friday: 8 AM - 5 PM
The Can Crew is dedicated to making the recycling process efficient and user-friendly. Customers can bring aluminum cans and plastic bottles in bags, while glass bottles must be separated and placed in cardboard boxes or totes for safety. To ensure a smooth process, the center has designated separate entrances for those needing assistance with sorting and for those who have pre-sorted materials.
How It Works:
-
Bring aluminum cans & plastic bottles in bags.
-
Glass bottles must be separated and placed in boxes or totes.
-
Unsure about sorting? Enter through the front door.
-
If pre-sorted, use the south door by the garage for a quicker drop-off (look for the orange squares).
The center is also answering frequently asked questions about its operations:
-
Can bags are available for purchase.
-
Can boxes will be available soon.
-
There is no strict limit on the amount that can be brought, but larger loads should be scheduled in advance.
-
Appointments are available for those bringing in large trailer-sized loads.
-
Fundraising opportunities are available for community events.
-
Crushed or liquid-filled cans are not redeemable.
-
Operating hours are still being adjusted to best serve the community.
Representatives from The Can Crew will be featured on KDSN’s morning talk show on March 6 to provide more details and answer additional questions.
