Update from the City of Manning: Fire Engulfs Pallet Company in Manning, Building Collapses; No Injuries Reported

(Manning, Iowa) On Sunday, January 26th at approximately 5:58 p.m., the Manning Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 803 Front Street. On arrival, crews found a large commercial structure on fire and additional departments were called in. There were no people in the building and no injuries were reported. Dozens of volunteer firefighters from ten departments worked to contain the fire. The building was a total loss, but crews were able to prevent the large fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Residents are asked to stay out of the area to allow for monitoring and clean-up to commence. A thank you goes out to all of the responding agencies as well as the community members who assisted with support services for the firefighters.
