Carroll County's Board of Supervisors District 5 will see Mark McCrea and Cindy Johnson competing for the seat.
Constitutional Amendments
Iowans will also weigh in on two significant constitutional amendments:
- Voting Eligibility Amendment: This proposal restricts voting in all elections to U.S. citizens aged 18 and older while allowing 17-year-olds who will turn 18 by the General Election to vote in the primary.
- Lieutenant Governor Succession Amendment: This amendment clarifies the role of the lieutenant governor in cases of temporary or permanent disability of the governor, ensuring a clear line of succession.
Community College Proposition
Additionally, voters in Merged Area XIII, encompassing several counties including Crawford and Pottawattamie, will decide on a proposition allowing the Iowa Western Community College Board of Directors to issue up to $55 million in general obligation bonds. This funding aims to support the construction of a new academic building and improvements to existing facilities.
As the election date nears, community engagement and voter turnout will be crucial in shaping the future of Iowa's leadership and policies.
