Carroll County Accident Injures 8-Year-Old
The Iowa State Patrol reports an 8-year-old on a bicycle was seriously injured after being struck by a pickup Saturday, August 12th in Glidden. The child was injured when the bicycle they were riding rode out into the street into the path of a 2023 Chevy Silverado. 63-year-old Thomas Lee Fransen of Carroll, the driver of the pickup, was unable to avoid the collision. The 8-year-old was transported to Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines by Life Flight helicopter. Fransen was not injured during the accident. Deputies with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
