The Dunlap Community Development Corporation (DCDC) has announced significant changes to its Board of Directors, with long-time board member Jake Schaben stepping down after 14 years of service. Schaben, who has also served as the DCDC Treasurer for much of his tenure, has been an integral part of the organization's efforts to foster growth in the Dunlap community.

“We appreciate Jake’s dedication to DCDC for the last many years,” said Lisa Gross, a fellow DCDC Board Member. “His commitment to Dunlap and its continued development will continue through his other endeavors.”

Jill Schaben, the Executive Director of DCDC, also expressed gratitude for Jake’s contributions. “Dedicating fourteen years to any endeavor is no small feat. Jake has put in an immense amount of time and energy into DCDC’s mission, and we will forever be grateful for his expertise,” Jill said. “He remains deeply involved in Dunlap in many other ways.”

In place of Jake, Kelsey Miller has been nominated to fill the vacant board seat. Miller, a Boyer Valley alum, was elected unopposed. She and her husband, Nick, are residents of Dunlap and are raising their three young children in the community. Kelsey is the owner of Common Grounds, a popular coffee shop and clothing boutique located on Iowa Avenue in Dunlap.

"I am so excited to be a part of DCDC,” Kelsey said. “It is truly a passion of mine to help grow our community and bring new and exciting experiences to our small but mighty town.”

Kelsey’s appointment was met with enthusiastic support from current board members. “Kelsey will be a great addition to the DCDC board,” Lisa Gross said. “Not only does she own a small business, but she also has children in the school district. We hope she is just one of many young entrepreneurs to help shape Dunlap’s future.”

Jill Schaben also praised Kelsey’s appointment, noting her ambition and fresh perspective. “It’s wonderful to have Kelsey joining the Board. She brings new ideas and energy to the table, and we’re excited to see where she’ll take DCDC in the future.”

The DCDC extends its heartfelt thanks to Jake Schaben for his years of service and congratulates Kelsey Miller on her new role. As the community looks ahead, it’s clear that great things are in store for Dunlap.
