The Dunlap Community Development Corporation (DCDC) has announced Molly Franken as this quarter’s recipient of the prestigious “That’s How It’s Dun” Award. This honor recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions through volunteer service in the Dunlap community.

A Social Work Supervisor at the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, Molly oversees child well-being in Crawford, Shelby, and Harrison counties. She has dedicated years to community service, including her role as President of the Dunlap Community Food Pantry, where she works to eliminate hunger and promote nutrition and self-sufficiency. Molly also serves as the Secretary of Boyer Valley TeamMates, a mentoring program benefiting local youth, and has volunteered with the Dunlap Main Street Market and Ladies Stag Night events.

Molly’s commitment to service extends to regular blood donations and active participation in the Harrison County Opioid Committee and the HMS HUB, which aims to improve the well-being of families in the region.

Jill Schaben, DCDC Executive Director, praised Molly’s dedication, saying, “Molly always seems to be where a helping hand is needed, donating her time and energy in meaningful ways.”

Molly, who has made Dunlap her home, emphasized the power of volunteering, noting, “It’s easy to say ‘yes’ when you’re asked to help by those you respect.” She encourages others to volunteer, highlighting the personal connections and sense of pride it fosters within the community.
