Water Restrictions in Denison Lifted, But Conservation Efforts Remain Essential

Denison, IA — Denison Municipal Utilities is pleased to announce that water restrictions have officially been lifted, following recent improvements in local water levels and supply. While this marks a significant step forward, we urge the community to remain vigilant in its water conservation efforts.
Despite the lifting of restrictions, our static water level—the distance from the land surface to the water in the well under non-pumping conditions—remains 3 feet lower compared to December 2022. This continued decrease in water levels highlights the importance of ongoing conservation efforts to ensure the sustainability of our water resources.
While the immediate pressure on our water system has eased, maintaining the health of our local water supply remains a shared responsibility. We encourage all residents and businesses to continue using water wisely to support a reliable, long-term water supply for Denison and surrounding areas.
Denison Municipal Utilities remains committed to monitoring water conditions closely and working with the community to protect and preserve this vital resource. Together, we can help ensure a stable and sustainable water future for generations to come.
Thank you for your continued support and efforts in water conservation.
