High Speed Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle Occurs in Denison Friday Afternoon
The Crawford County Sheriff's Department tells our News Director Mick Tisone that earlier yesterday they were made aware of a stolen vehicle out of Woodbury County. At approximately 3:12 authorities located this vehicle in Denison. A stop was initiated by the Denison Police Department however the single male in the vehicle fled North on Highway 59 resulting in a high speed chase towards Schleswig where the Crawford County Sherriff's department assisted. The vehicle eventually turned east on E16 in Schleswig towards 39 and then went north on 39 with speeds at some points reaching up to 110 mph and passing vehicles in no passing zones. The Sheriff's department made the call to stop the pursuit as the vehicle reached 39 due to public safety concerns. Approximately 20-30 minutes later Sac County authorities came into contact with the driver and initiated a pursuit where the vehicle eventually ended up in a field. We have unconfirmed reports the individual is deceased due to self-inflicted wounds. More details to come as we receive them.
