Water Restored in Irwin Building, Testing to Delay Use of Fountains

IKM-Manning Schools announced that water service has been restored in the Irwin building after an unexpected disruption earlier today. However, the cause of the water outage is still under investigation. As a precautionary measure, the district has decided to test the water before the fountains can be used for drinking.
The testing, which will be conducted at a site in Coralville, Iowa, is expected to take a minimum of three school days. Until the testing is complete and results are confirmed, students and staff are advised not to use the drinking fountains. Other water sources for lunch preparation will be used if necessary.
"We are pleased to report that toilets are functioning again, and thanks to a generous donation from Fareway in Harlan, we have plenty of bottled water to meet the needs of our students and staff," said a district spokesperson. "We are grateful for their quick response and support during this time."
Despite the disruption, the school day will proceed as scheduled, with students continuing their activities. Notably, tomorrow’s Career Fair and Preschool Prom will take place in the Irwin building as planned.
"We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and understanding as we navigate this situation. We will continue to keep our families updated," the statement concluded.
