Sac City Council Greenlights New Summer Farmer’s Market on Vacant Lot

The Sac City City Council has given the go-ahead for a new summer farmer’s market to be organized by a local resident on an unused lot in town. City Administrator Jamie Lawrence says the event will offer a boost for area vendors and help attract more visitors to Sac City during the warmer months.
Originally, the organizer, Lund, proposed hosting the market along a city sidewalk, but the council did not approve that plan. Lund then suggested using the grassy lot at the corner of North 5th Street and Williams Street instead—a location the council found suitable.
According to Lawrence, the farmer’s market will be a fresh addition to Sac City’s summer calendar, taking place every Saturday throughout the season. More information on vendors, schedules, and event details will be announced by Lund in the coming weeks.
