Dow City Man Faces Sexual Abuse Charges in Upcoming Trial
A 39-year-old Dow City man is set to stand trial in May on multiple sexual abuse charges involving a former employee. Court records from Crawford County District Court allege that Timothy Craig Mitchell coerced a female worker into performing sexual acts between November 2022 and January 2023.
The victim reportedly resisted, telling Mitchell “no,” but he allegedly continued by physically restraining her—forcing her onto a bar, into a back room, or holding her down on his lap.
Mitchell has pleaded not guilty to five counts of third-degree sexual abuse, all classified as Class C felonies. His jury trial is scheduled for May 13 at the Crawford County Courthouse. If convicted, he faces up to 50 years in prison and more than $68,000 in fines.
