Carroll Man Charged With Felony For May 4 Burglary -

(Carroll Broadcasting) A Carroll man faces a felony burglary charge following a Carroll Police Department investigation into a May 4 break-in. Eighteen-year-old Gage Christopher Butcher was arrested last week for second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a serious misdemeanor. Authorities say Butcher entered a home in the 400 block of N. Whitney Street during the early morning hours of May 4 with intent to commit theft. Additionally, law enforcement alleges Butcher used a drill to gain entrance by drilling out three door locks at the victim’s home. He was taken into custody on May 31 and booked into the Carroll County jail. Butcher was later released on his own recognizance after appearing before a magistrate. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 27 at the Carroll County Courthouse. Combined, the charges carry a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison and $11,875 in fines.
