Denison Police Report Warrant Arrest, Major Vehicle Collision
The Denison Police Department is reporting one arrest and one motor vehicle accident so far this month.
Police arrested 24-year-old Aker Machar of Denison on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear at around 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
The traffic accident happened at approximately 3:40 p.m. Tuesday near the 1800 block of Highway 30. The 16-year-old driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling east on Highway 30. The report indicates that driver rear-ended a 2009 Ford Focus driven by a 14-year-old who was initiating a left turn from Highway 30 onto South 18th Street. No injuries were reported. The 16-year-old was cited for following too close. The 14-year-old was cited for having no valid license. The Malibu had to be towed from the scene and is listed as totaled. The Focus was driven away with damage that will take an estimated $10,000 to repair.
