Denison Police Reporting Traffic Accidents, Arrest of Omaha Woman

The Denison Police Department is reporting a pair of traffic accidents and one arrest from earlier this week.

The most recent motor vehicle incident occurred on Tuesday at around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of North 16th Street and 8th Avenue North. The 16-year-old female driver of a 1999 Buick Century was traveling northbound on 16th approaching the intersection. Police say the Buick driver failed to properly stop in time and rear-ended a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu stopped at the intersection. The Malibu was being driven by a 16-year-old male. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued. The report estimates $800 worth of damage to the Malibu with none assigned to the Buick.

A second document indicates that another collision took place on Monday at around 5:15 p.m. on Donna Reed Road. Police say 48-year-old Cindy Borkowski of Denison was southbound in a 2013 Ford Taurus and stopped behind a vehicle that was waiting for oncoming traffic to clear before turning left into a driveway. The report states that 51-year-old Hope Brown of Manilla was also southbound in a 2005 Dodge Dakota and failed to stop before rear-ending the Taurus. Brown was cited for failing to stop in assured clear distance but no injuries were reported. The repair cost is estimated to be $3,000 for each vehicle.

The arrest happened at just before 9 p.m. that same night. The public release states that police arrested LaQuesha Webster of Omaha, Nebraksa at Denison Job Corps. The 21-year-old female was charged for Interference with Official Acts.

All charges are allegations and the people involved in a case are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
