Boys Tennis: Monarchs win back to back matches with win vs Harlan

The Monarchs boys tennis team were back in action with a home matchup vs Hawkeye Ten foe Harlan.

Denison-Schleswig took care of buisness at home with a decisive 9-0 win over the Cyclones and have now won back to back matches as they sit at 2-2 on the season.

Coaches Comments from Aaron Ratliff

"We have such an inexperienced team that this match could have been much closer. I was happy to see us step it up and finish each of the matches strong. We were behind in 4 of the singles matches before turning it on and securing the win. I love seeing the JV with a dominant win. Jayden Bradley was down through the first half of his match before closing with a 5 game win streak. Cesar Cardona Jr. was down 3-4 before winning the next 7 games. Adonay Arellano had the best comeback. Despite hitting fantastic groundstrokes throughout the match, he was consistently down by one game. At 7-9, he went on a 4 game run to win the match 11-9. Owen Galvin dominated his match from the start. Any win at the #1 position is difficult and he has two so far this season. Grant Fink and Jayden Bradley played smart patient doubles. They kept it away from the net player and angled their volleys away given the opportunity."
