Ole Miss eliminates Iowa State at the NCAA Tournament in Milwaukee
Iowa State was no match for hot-shooting Ole Miss. The Rebels shot a sizzling 58 percent, including 11-of-19 from three-point range to beat the Cyclones 91-78 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Milwaukee. The Cyclones trailed by as many as 26 points in the second half and finished the season with a record of 25-10. The Cyclones reached as high as number two in the national rankings but battled injuries to Milan Momcilovic, Tamin Lipsey, and Keshon Gilbert over the last couple of months. The Cyclones jumped out to an early 13-5 lead before the Rebels flipped the script. That's senior guard Curtis Jones who led ISU with 26 points. The Cyclones struggled defending the three-point line during the final weeks of the season. Ole Miss takes a 24-11 record into a Sweet Sixteen game against Michigan State. Rebel coach Chris Beard says a key was committing only eight turnovers.
