Steve Field appointed as Logan-Magnolia Volleyball coach
On Wednesday, the Logan-Magnolia school district announced the hire of Steve Field as the new head coach of the Logan-Magnolia Panthers Volleyball team. Tyler Hinkel will serve as the associate head coach.
Steve Field has extensive experience coaching volleyball at the collegiate, high school, and club levels.
A setter development specialist, Field spent 14 seasons as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Bellevue University, helping train multiple NAIA All-American setters, including a National Setter of the Year. During his time at BU, he helped guide the Bruins to 12 NAIA National Tournament appearances. In 2016, he was honored as the AVCA NAIA National Assistant Coach of the Year.
He previously served as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he was part of an NCAA Division II National Championship team. Field has seven children—Kaitlin, Olivia, Kaleb, Jonny, Zach, Deirdre, and Terell—who have attended, currently attend, or will attend Logan-Magnolia CSD.
Tyler Hinkel, a 2003 graduate of Logan-Magnolia, brings four years of club volleyball coaching experience and a strong passion for the sport. He is excited to contribute to the program’s success and help develop the next generation of Panther volleyball players.
