All Second Grade Students Are Recieving “Just Like Caitlin” Book Thanks To Native Audubon Family
An Audubon family, with strong ties to Iowa basketball, is giving a copy of a book about their story to every second-grade student in Iowa. Dickson and Luann Jensen, originally from Audubon County and now living in Ames, believe both books and sports are powerful tools that can help children succeed. Their daughter, Ally Obermeier, authored the book Just Like Caitlin, which shares life lessons such as the importance of working hard toward one's dreams, valuing relationships over competition, and more. Dickson, a former coach for Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark in the All Iowa Attack girls' basketball program, is proud of Caitlin's achievements and sees her as a strong role model for kids. A letter sent to parents of students receiving the book read, "The Jensens are proud of Caitlin and believe she is a great role model for all children. Through their love for kids and desire to inspire the next generation, they hope this book will encourage children to believe in a future greater than they can imagine." Those interested in purchasing the book online can find a link on our website. Thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous supporter, 100% of the proceeds from each sale will benefit the Iowa Youth Athletic Foundation, which funds athletic programs and facilities for children across the state.
