Bored vs. Board Games

Join us each 3rd Thursday of the month for our new board game night! Board vs. Board Games will be exploring different games each month that you probably don't have at home! Have a game that you'd like to share? Bring it along! While we will always plan games to play so you have something new to look forward to each month, we will also let our patrons share their love of board games and let us know what YOU want to play! Ages 19 and up.

Join us once a month in the Teen Zone for Teen Activity Club! Teens ages 12-18 will be able to come to the library to watch movies, do a craft, or play games! We will have a different activity planned for each month. In September, we'll be watching a movie, having snacks and making our own stress balls!

Titanic Program

Discover the shared connection between an orphan train rider, a kidnapper, a missionary, a wealthy businessman, a wedding guest, a betrayed wife, a farmer and an immigrant recruiter:  all were linked to Iowa and were passengers on the Titanic during its tragic sinking on April 15, 1912. A surprising number of passengers from all classes had Iowa ties yet their compelling stories have almost been forgotten. Darcy revives these tales from the “ship of dreams,” offering a unique perspective on the maritime disaster. Engage with the human stories woven into the Titanic's legacy, learn about the survivors, and delve into the enduring mysteries that captivate us over a century later. This event has been sponsored through the fundraising efforts of the Denison Library Friends, Inc.
