IMMUNIZATION CLINICS
The Crawford County Public Health will be holding Immunization Clinics on September 13 from 1-5:30 and Thursday, September 16 from 10 - 2:00 at the Public Health Office at 105 N. Main St. in Denison. These are walk - in clinics with no appointment necessary.

SEPTEMBER PAPER DRIVE
The BoyScouts of Troop 55 in Denison will hold the September paper drive on Saturday, September11th at the Walmart parking lot. The boys will be there from 9 - 1:00 to help you unload your tied, bundled or sacked newspapers. You may bring your acceptable papers in either paper bags or cardboard boxes; please no plastic bags.

Mosaic in Western Iowa presents: Guitars & Good Times
featuring Moldy fig on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Boulders Conference Center in Denison. Dinner is at 6 and the band starts at 7. Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner and dancing while bidding on silent auction items. Proceeds raised will benefit individuals with intellectual disabilities assisted by Mosaic in Western Iowa. 9th Annual Poker Fun Run & Cruisin' For The Critters - Fund Raiser for the Denison Animal Shelter. on Saturday, September 11 at the Pub - in Denison. $10 per person / $17 per couple, which includes Poker Hand, meal and music by DJ Technical Tuneage. $2 per person entry fee will be donated to the shelter. FREE WILL BENEFIT FOR HADLEY SCHROEDER
A Free Will Benefit for Hadley Schroeder, 20 month old daughter of Bryanne and Brian Schroeder, will be on Sunday, Sept. 12 from 9-1:00 at the Odebolt Community Bldg. Your support at this benefit will help with the continous medical attention that Hadley needs. She battles slow muscle development , spinal disorders and digestive problems since birth.

ST. PATRICK'S FALL DINNER
St. Patrick's Church in Dunlap is hosting it's annual Fall Dinner on Sunday, September 12. They will be serving from 11 - 2:00. Dinner tickets for adults are $10 , $4.50 for ages 10 & under. Other activites planned for the day include Bingo, children's games, cake walk, country store, raffle items, cash drawings and a silent auction. SCHLESWIG VFW TO DISTRIBUTE POPPIES
The Schleswig VFW Auxiliary will be distributing poppies during the Calf Days Celebration. The ladies will be in Cheeta's on Thursday evening, Sept. 16 and will be distributing before and after the parade on Saturday morning, Sept. 18th.
A NIGHT IN THE LION'S DEN
Come and celebrate Denison's Homecoming 2010 from 6-8:00pm on Thursday, September 16. At the Broadway Elementary school there will be a dunk tank, face painting, a chance to play games with your Monarch athletes and more. 8:00 is a community wide pep rally and bonfire at the Broadway Elementary.
HOMECOMING
The theme for Homecoming this year is "Loud and Proud To Be A Monarch!" The Homecoming Parade will be Friday, Sept. 17 at 2:00. If you or your business is interested in entering a float or vehicle in the parade please call the high school office at 263-3101. There is a new parade route this year. The parade will start on 1st Ave. N and head south on Main and then east on Bdwy. Any entry in the parade will need to begin lining up at 1:30 on 1st Ave. N.

Harvest Fest retail promotion in Denison on Friday Sept. 17. Give aways of pork certificates in honor of Pork Month, special discounts in stores, pork burgers and other foods available.
CALF SHOW DAYS
Schleswig Calf Show Days are Friday & Saturday, Sept. 17 & 18. Carnival starts on Friday, parade on Saturday at 10:00 followed by craft show in the Community Bldg, along with Bingo and school's food booth.
CALF SHOW DINNER
The Immanuel Lutheran Congregation's Calf Show Dinner will be on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 11 - 1:00 in the Schleswig Community Bldg. The cost is $9 for adults, $5 for ages 4-12 . They will be serving Staley's broasted chicken and more. Carry-outs can be picked up at the south door of the Community Bldg. MEMORY WALK
The 2010 West Central Iowa Memory Walk, will be held at Yellow Smoke Park in Denison on September 18. They not only need walkers, but also sponsors, with your participation, it will give your business a wonderful opportunity to be recognized with in the community. Your dollars will go to local programs, such as family and community education and support group awareness. MCHENRY HOUSE IS 125 YEARS OLD
The Crawford County Historical Society is celebrating 125 years for the Historic W. A. McHenry House built in 1885. Open House, Family History, School Memorabilia, Car Show, Cattlemen grilling hamburgers on Saturday, September 18 from 10 - 2:00 located 1428 1st Ave N. in Denison, just north of HyVee.
COUNTRY JAMBOREE
Country Jamboree on Sunday, Sept. 19 from 5 - 7:30 pm at the Zion Parish Hall in Denison. They will be serving BBQ Pork Sandwiches, baked bean, coleslaw , potatoe chips and brownies. Tickets are $12 for adults $6 for ages 5-10 and 4 and under is free. Advanced ticket sales only. ST. ROSE OF LIMA FALL DINNER
The St. Rose of Lima Fall Dinner will be on Sunday, September 19 from 3:30 - 7:30. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for ages 5-12. MOPED SAFETY CLASS
Western Iowa Tech Community College is offering a Moped Safety Course for all 14 or 15 year olds that want to get a moped license. It will be held on Saturday, September 25th from 8:30 - 2:30 pm. Cost is $45 and registration is required. Register by calling 263-3419

Child Health Clinic: Child Health provides a variety of medical services based on the child's age and needs. Services may include physical examinations, immunizations, vision testing, doctor and dental referrals, nutritional and family counseling. Clinics will be held at the Methodist Church in Denison. You must have an appointment.
Family Planning Clinic: Family Planning offers birth control, pregnancy tests, physical exams, cancer screenings, pap smears, breast exams, blood pressure, anemia screenings, tests and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases. confidential HIV screening and counseling by appointment. Proof of U.S. Citizenship , proof of identity and proof of one full month's income, (check stubs for the entire month) is required. Family Planning Supply Pickup: 2:00 - 4:00 pm on Wednesdays and 2:00- 4:00 on Fridays at the Public Health Office, 105 N. main St. in Denison. You must make an appointment for anything other than these times.
Immunization Clinics: These are walk-in clinics with no appointment needed. Please bring child's social security number, all immunization records and Title 19 card (if applicable) If your insurance covers immunizations, including hawk- i Ins. , please take your child to your family physician.
Iowa Breast & Cancer Early Detection-Care for Yourself Program: A special service for women age 40 -64. You may be eligible to receive a variety of health examinations at no cost to you if you have no health insurance, a policy that does not cover these services, or you cannot pay your deductible or co-insurance.
Senior Health Clinic: This is a clinic for individuals 60 years and older. Physical examination includes cholesterol, blood sugar, hemoglobin and blood pressure screening. Tetanus booster will be available.
